Entering Memories
Rui Huang
Everyone has unique memories, and I am exploring memories that I have gradually forgotten in this 3D virtual environment. The memory is of my grandparent's home in a village in southern China, where I would spend a few days every summer as a child. All things in this environment are related to my childhood identity.
The video perspective simulates the height of a 10-year-old child, trying to bring the audience into my memory and this scene. Also, there are children laughing, fresh watermelons, and cicadas singing in this environment which viewers have generally experienced as children. This work shows my memories, but similar things will bring back the audience's related childhood memories that are forgotten from their sea of memories.
