Shining Time Station: Ticket To Toronto
Connor Stratton
Shining Time Station: Ticket To Toronto is an installation made to acknowledge the connections between the city of Toronto, to the children's show Shining Time Station. Which brought the British children's icon Thomas the Tank Engine to TV in North America for the first time.
The installation discusses aspects of the show's connections, including origins, production, and one Toronto man's preservation effort. It has audio narrations/videos provided by myself accessed by QR codes.
Although I never witnessed Shining Time Station when it aired. I discovered it online in high school when I re-discovered my love for classic Thomas, and was quickly captivated by it. Upon attending school at TMU, imagine my shock to discover the connections the show has to not only Toronto but also to The Creative School/Campus.
